Component 1: Industry Sector-led Technical Training
Overview
Component One is aimed at building private sector leadership in effective workforce development.
Key elements of the project approach include:
- Selecting sectors with the highest potential for job growth, with substantial input from USAID, industry and other stakeholders;
- Conducting skills mapping/gap analysis;
- Crafting workforce development plans and signing alliances with private companies and organizations;
- Building business training networks and creating capacity building plans;
- Changing how managers view workforce and advocating for policy change; and
- Building the business case to change the way companies view workforce investment and behavioral change.

Life of Project Expected Results
Jobs Project will demonstrate good industry led training practice with 30,000 women and men: 80% of which will be placed within 6 months of completing program. 75% of trainees who were already employed at the start of the program will show increased reported income or increased employer satisfaction. Approximately half of the trainees will be women.
