Position Description: Career Center Program Manager

I. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and implementation of Career Center Development activities that include on-going technical training and support to all JOBS career centers. This position is to provide leadership and strategies as required in establishing new career centers. This position plans and implements programs and trainings as required, customizes materials to meet the needs of the career centers and facilitates problem solving with stakeholders on behalf of all JOBs Career Centers assuring they efficiently and effectively succeed. This position uses the skills and experience of STTA experts and the current JOBs Career Center staff for continuous program improvement. The career center capacity building is focused on enhancement of employers’ workforce development activities in ways that promote greater productivity and job satisfaction and higher job placement.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Manage the JOBS Career Center program with the objective of making the career centers sustainable.
- To promote goals and achievable program results
- To provide information and assist staff, employees, employers to use the services and labor market data.
- Plan and organized career centers continuing education and networking activities to assure quality program development.
- Implement prepared training to meet needs of career center staff as well as employers.
- Work with JOBS leadership and UDAID to plan a career center strategy for future work.
- Build a strong team with current Career Center staff, using their knowledge and skills to promote quality programs within all JOBS career centers.
- Develop required reports, papers and materials and coordinate with JOBS Communication experts.
- Perform related activities/duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
III. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Management and training experience
- Knowledge of career concepts, job opportunities and trends in the market
- Ability to effectively write reports, collected and use data
- Demonstrated speaking, public relations skills
- Experience in program planning and organizing ;
- Ability to work independently, be a self starter requiring minimal supervision
- Results oriented skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- MS office skills
IV. QUALIFICATION
Education: Minimum Bachelors, preferred Masters degree/MBA or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
