About Jobs Project
Project Name: USAID Pakistan Jobs
Implementing Partners: Care International and Abt Associates Inc.
GOP Partners: Various
Overview
Pakistan's growing population is supplying about 3,000,000 new entrants to the labor force each year. Yet, Pakistan's education system is not adequately preparing the vast majority of these youth to enter the labor market. The result is a double bind where youth are unable to find work at the same time as employers complain that they can not find qualified applicants for positions. USAID/Pakistan: Jobs Project aims to link the private-sector with training institutions to give youth the skills they need to find and succeed in jobs. The project will facilitate employment for youth and improve firm productivity while helping create a climate of economic opportunity.
